Some of my suggestions: When I first began thinking about starting my own company, I had a hundred questions and I felt like I had no places to ask them.
I slowly started to compile a list of websites that I thought were good resources to use. The websites ranges from the novice business start up approach ( which I was)
to the more technical pages. In the beginning I really found pages that walked you through the basics to be the most encouraging and as my knowledge grew - I then began to find that I was getting more out of the more intricate WebPages. I broke the WebPages down into three categories. 1) Entrepreneurial Basic - these were sites that talked about starting a company - any company from your own barber shop to a large retail store. 2) Websites that were Industry specific - these sites were of companies that I found had 'similar' ideas or concepts 2) Financing - this area's turned out to be my weakest - so I needed to have several different types of resources. looking back, I still think that the research end is the hardest to get started - but the most important. Later I looked to expand this research section into people that I could contact with questions. After awhile I found several places and people that were great resources in developing my plan from a rough idea to a fully documented business plan.
Some of the best sites that I used to research ( excluding some of the industry specific ones):
